Sanctuary

Our last two weeks have been a whole new chapter for us. A busy one. A chapter of adjustment to an even busier life, with me returning to work part time, the little bean starting nursery and Daddy returning to his long shift days.

I'll be honest, it's been tough, but it hasn't been unpleasant.

The little bean took her first steps the day after her first birthday, and with that has come a whole new level of exploration and curiosity that nursery has proved a godsend for. She is thoroughly enjoying her three mornings a week of exploring, playing and socialising whilst I am enjoying returning to work, being in the  creative environment that I've missed. My hours at work fly by, and being re-united with the little bean after a morning apart, is the best feeling in the world.

Our afternoons at home are so precious now, and I'm enjoying our home on a different level, as a sanctuary from our fast-paced weekdays, in a way I've not been able to before. We love nothing more than to spend our home time relaxing, reading, playing, cuddling and occasionally indulging in some tasty treats .

N.B. This fast pace of life will be reflecting on this here space. The only way I'm managing to keep on top, is to blog sporadically, as and when the mood takes me. So, for now, the weekly updates have gone, and I will pop in and update as often as is feasible.

  1. I love those ostheimer animals. We have a few. Gorgeous but pricey. Oh good luck with the adjustment... things will settle. We call Charlie bean, it's his name since he was a bean in my belly! xx

  5. It is tough, isn't it - I started back at work at the end of September and it's so nice to read that others find it tough but not wholly negative too.

I know what you mean about a sweeter appreciation of the time you do have at home now - for me it means I now devote from 6 to 8.30 to play rather than trying to wash the dishes and hang up laundry at the same time. A more conscious focus.

The nursery plague is what's getting to me though!
